The beneficiaries of the program has been the local youth (Men and Women)
The challenge of the project lies in effectively addressing multifaceted objectives aimed at uplifting rural livelihoods and promoting gender equality through farm mechanization initiatives while countering the popular cultural narrative. It entails devising strategies to equip rural youth and community members with the necessary skills and resources to engage in mechanized farming, thereby enhancing their economic prospects.
The strategy was intended to catalyze, facilitate and manage demand-driven, low cost and easily accessible outcome based training to rural youth as tractor operator and tractor mount agriculture machine operator; that can benefit the small and marginalized farmers in the chosen geography. The emphasis is on, imparting domain related skills and knowledge along with the right attitude to effectively engage in income generation activities.
Initially, the program planned to include Housekeeping sector training. However, due to limited interest from candidates and discussions with the Mahindra & Mahindra team, this role was removed from the agenda. This decision, prioritizing candidate aspirations and market relevance, highlighted the program’s adaptability and commitment to meaningful, demand-driven training.
