In celebration of World Clean-up Day 2024, Decathlon Sports India led a significant environmental initiative, mobilizing communities across Ludhiana to take action for a cleaner and greener city. As part of an ongoing joint project with Centum Foundation, students actively participated in the city-wide clean-up, which aligned with Decathlon’s vision of sustainability and environmental responsibility.

The event, held in various parts of Ludhiana, highlighted the importance of maintaining clean public spaces and the impact that grassroots efforts can have on urban environments. The students, supported by Centum Foundation, eagerly joined Decathlon’s employees and local volunteers, showcasing the power of collective action. Through hands-on engagement, they helped clear trash from streets, parks, and other public areas, raising awareness of waste management and pollution reduction.

More than just a clean-up, this initiative aimed to inspire the next generation. Educational sessions were organized, providing students with insights into responsible waste disposal, recycling practices, and how small changes can contribute to large-scale environmental improvement. This experience equipped them with the knowledge and tools to become active stewards of the environment, encouraging them to continue these practices in their daily lives.

Decathlon’s leadership in this event was pivotal, as their vision to promote a healthier planet brought together diverse groups, including students from Centum Foundation’s programs, to make a tangible impact. The collaboration emphasized the importance of sustained efforts in environmental conservation, and it served as a testament to what can be achieved when organizations unite for a common cause.

Through this event, Decathlon and Centum Foundation reinforced their commitment to environmental sustainability, highlighting the critical role of youth involvement in shaping a cleaner future. As our students take their experiences from the clean-up forward, this initiative stands as a model for future collaborations aimed at improving communities and fostering environmental awareness.

Together, we continue to build a culture of responsibility and care for the planet, ensuring that today’s actions lead to a greener tomorrow. World Clean-up Day 2024 was not just an event but a step toward inspiring lasting change in Ludhiana and beyond.
