Centum Foundation and YuWaah India at UNICEF are making significant strides in empowering India’s youth through the Passport to Earning (P2E) program. With a focus on equipping young people with essential 21st Century skills, the initiative has successfully trained over 1,00,000 learners across 9 states in India.

Designed as an e-learning solution, the P2E platform is tailored to meet the unique challenges of India’s youth. It provides access to high-quality courses in a mobile-friendly format, enabling learners to develop key skills for the future of work. One of the standout features of the platform is its adaptability—it operates in low-bandwidth environments and is available in multiple languages, making it accessible to a wider audience.

Learners who complete the courses receive certificates, boosting their credentials and opening doors to new opportunities. The feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, particularly from students at Nishat Hospital and Institute of Paramedical Science and Nursing and Sagar College of Pharmacy in Lucknow. During a recent visit by Manish Prakash Sahu and Sana Umeed from Centum Foundation, students shared how the P2E program is helping them transition smoothly from education to professional life, equipping them with practical skills needed to thrive in the workforce.

The recognition at the Mahatma Award 2024 ceremony, held at the India International Centre, New Delhi, highlights the shared vision and collaborative efforts of Mahindra Group and Centum Foundation. This award is a powerful testament to the partnership’s impact in advancing gender equality and promoting social inclusion through focused employability training and empowerment initiatives.

Over the course of this year, more than 12,000 students have completed their digital courses, and the program continues to expand its reach. By delivering 21st Century skills, the P2E program is helping young people develop the abilities required to succeed in today’s rapidly evolving job market. The impact of the program extends beyond individual learners—it is also contributing to community development by ensuring that youth in underrepresented areas gain access to crucial learning resources.

As the program progresses, the aim is to further scale its impact, reaching even more students and communities. Through this collaboration with UNICEF YuWaah, Centum Foundation remains committed to fostering a brighter, more inclusive future for India’s youth, one that prepares them for the demands of tomorrow’s workforce and empowers them to succeed.
